Souleo Interviews Recording Artist Jaicko
On the last post, we saw Jaicko's skills beyond singing and now hear his views on starting his career in music and how he plans to utilize it to inspire the younger generation in his native homeland of Barbados.

Check out this interview with Jaicko, who hails from Barbados and is known for his single, "Oh yeah". The music video for that has also been out for awhile now. We did the interview with only one mic so the sound is a little off. I also filmed an interview with Jay Sean last week, which will up shortly. Be sure to check them out!
what happened with the Director's Guild Exam?!?!
Here's an update on my Director's Guild Exam. I didn't make it the second round which is the preliminary interview. Last year, I did make it to the first round of interviews, but I guess I didn't do too well on the test this year. Even though, it was same exact exam with the same exact questions. This was my second time trying for the program, so now I have to wait a year to reapply. The fast track way to be a producer in the film/television industry wasn't meant to be, for now. Hope things will pick up in the mean time.

forget a windscreen for your mic?
I just remembered a useful technique for setting up a lavaliere mic when in a windy environment and you're caught without a windscreen to mask the noise. You can use some sticky tape and wrap it around the mic slighting edging out. This will prevent the wind blowing directly into the mic.
When I did a shoot today, the interviewee blew into the mic when she spoke, but luckily I had a windscreen on me. Whenever you're not so lucky to have one handy, be sure to have some sticky tape!
Later on the day, I did a shoot with Jay Sean, a musician from England who signed with Cash Money. The interview will probably be up in about week. I will keep you updated!

let your voice be heard Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai
I produced this segment about a spoken word artist,Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai, who has performed nationally, internationally, as well as on Russell Simmons' Def Poetry on HBO. Her poetry speaks on social, political, and cultural issues that is considered to be divisive topics yet is able to connect with audiences of many backgrounds. I hope you enjoy it! This woman really inspires me. Check it you y'all!
