my dream camera

I think I just found my dream camera. A Panasonic DVX200 with a Letus 35mm lens adapter for great Depth Of Field and film like visuals. There are some amazing cinematography tutorials on YouTube. The videos show you step by step on how the set was designed and lighting placement. I was surprised how simple adjustments can make a huge difference in your visuals.

Here is a piece I produced for Sector B: The Business of Brooklyn, a show that focuses on local business sprouting up right here in your neighborhood. I went over to the Old American Can Factory in Gowanus to check out the collaboration between the Farmers and Makers market. Check it out, maybe you'll find something worthwhile to buy. I love wine and bought a few bottles from a Brooklyn based wine company called Brooklyn Oenology.

I just got letter in the mail and the NY Assistant Director Training Program has accepted my application. The next stage in the process is taking the exam, which is a mix of logic, reasoning and reading comprehension questions. I've been through the process last year and made it to the first interview. Hopefully, I will make it through to the final stage this time around.

Here is a segment I filmed for Brooklyn Review on the Brooklyn Independent Television Network. Right Rides is an organization dedicated in providing transportation services for the LGBT community, as well as students, and those who look for a safe ride in the city. Nia Hamm reports. Check out the next segment on the Fort Greene Market coming soon.

Priscilla teaches Souleo the art of making music. It isn't as easy as she makes it look.

Finally the New Boyz Trilogy is complete! The New Boyz attempt to teach us how to jerk. The results aren't so pretty for Souleo, but he stepped up and tried it! Watch the video to see how he did.

sketchies contest!

A short film for a sketch comedy contest we entered. Zach and Gael find themselves on a wild adventure when they discover a magic flute. Alas we didn't win, but we had a hell of time making it. "Can I bring my Conch?"

Check out this interview with Styles P and Sheek Louch from D-Block. I worked with Souleo on the video for the Hip Hop News website, www.ballerstatus.com.

UPDATE: I heard this went viral a few days ago. I guess it depends what your definition of viral is...

I recently filmed two segments for the news magazine show, Brooklyn Review. I never knew there was a Toy Museum anywhere, let alone one in the heart of Brooklyn. It was great meeting with the founder and how her journey led her to create it. Great job on the piece, Fred! The more I watch it the more I like it! And Tati reports on the Department of Transportation's new signs directing pedestrians to cultural hubs around Downtown Brooklyn.
